(Free-Press-Release.com) July 21, 2010 — Tigard, OR (July 17, 2010) – Archetype Inc., an outsourced sales and marketing firm, donated time to People of Purpose and Associates’ “5th Annual Day of Re-tilling the Soil” event on Saturday, July 17. Archetype Team members conducted an area clean-up in the Northeast area of Portland.
Twelve team members from Archetype attended the event, along with another estimated 200 people, including people from the Portland Police Bureau , the Portland City
commissioner Dan Saltzman and a lot of other organizations in the local area as well, in hopes of helping to clean up the community. It was said that this year was the biggest yet. The goal of People of Purpose and Associates is to reach, touch, and affect the lives of people and improve the community’s public safety.
“We decided to volunteer to the organization because we wanted to have a positive impact on the community,” said Melissa White, president of Archetype.. “We also wanted to get involved in something that was not only giving back, but that also promoted a positive outlook on life and uplifted people in the community. “
“We had people who lived in the area thanking us while we were cleaning up, it was really nice to be acknowledged like that. ” says Kaydi Saephanh, also from Archetype.. “We all had a great time. We met a lot of people at the event like the city commissioner!”
After the clean up all the participants went to the Irving City Park and People of Purpose and Associates had a BBQ ready with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, etc. A live gospel band performed; as well as a free, which otherwise has a cost, Z Basketball Tournament for the kids.
Archetype now also intends on donating time to People of Purpose and Associates’ Annual Toy Drive in the Winter.
In addition to their participation in People of Purpose and Associates, Archetype will also be donating funds and time to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the near future and will be participating in the “Light the Night Walk” in October. Archetype’s goal is to have a fundraiser and raise money for the event, which pays tribute and bring hope to people battling cancer.
